Since 2000, Helping Hands for Honduras, Inc. has organized medical missions, funded cardiac surgeries, and donated critical medical supplies to public hospitals across Honduras - all at no cost to the families we serve. Your donation gives a child born with a congenital heart defect (CHD) a fighting chance at life.
Congenital heart disease is the world's most common birth defect, affecting 1% of all newborns. In Honduras, specialized pediatric cardiac care is scarce and unaffordable for most families. Most CHD cases can be corrected with a single surgery - but without help, most children never get it.
Your donation funds three things directly:
A critical pediatric cardiac procedure in Honduras - including the valve, supplies, and care - can cost approximately $10,000 or more. For a family earning around $400 per month, that's simply impossible. Every dollar donated to Helping Hands for Honduras goes directly toward surgeries, mission logistics, medical transport, and hospital supply donations. No donation is too small - and larger gifts or corporate sponsorships can fund individual procedures.
We operate as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 54-2023589) under the oversight of a Board of Directors. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law. To donate by check, make payable to "Helping Hands for Honduras, Inc." and mail to: 3700 Big Ben Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
Can't give money? You can still make an impact! We welcome in-kind donations of cardiac surgical supplies, ICU equipment, hospital supplies, and unexpired medications. Medical suppliers, hospitals, and businesses with surplus equipment are encouraged to contact us at (757) 431-8522.
Corporate partners can support our mission through financial sponsorships, fundraising events, workplace giving campaigns, and cause-related marketing. Every partnership directly funds serve. Your donation gives a child born with a congenital heart defect (CHD) a fighting chance at life.
